The Gymkhana of Government Polytechnic, Panaji is another asset that adds to the glory of the Institute. The Principal of the Institute is the President of the Gymkhana Committee and one of the senior staff member is the Vice President. The members of the Gymkhana Committee are elected by the Student Body at the beginning of the academic year. The various Secretaries are elected from the Class Representatives. The Gymkhana is located in a separate block adjacent to the main playground.

Excellent facilities exist in the Institute for both Indoor and Outdoor games. The Gymkhana building houses the Gymnasium, Badminton Court, and other facilities for Table Tennis, Carrom etc. The two playgrounds are extensively used for playing games like Football, Cricket, Basketball etc.
Inter Engineering Diploma Sports are held for common games and ahletics between the various Polytechnics of the State, every year. The Institute is State Champion in a number of such events every year.
